The car was a street car first! It was a 3 owner car that was purchased new in Central Texas and has spent it's entire life in
The car was purchased from the original owner about 7 years ago by Orville Wright in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He stripped the
car down and completely refinished it with a new interior, 302 V-8, A/C, T-5 manual transmission tinted glass, etc.
It had drum brakes, a 7" rear end, 14" wheels & tires and was
strictly a "cruiser".
I converted it to Granada Front disk brakes with the Metro/Geo power booster system and drove it on the street for about 2 years before I started to convert it to a "vintage
If you saw the second page of my website you saw my "original Monte Carlo Falcon" (orange & white) that I raced in
the 60's & 70's.
I decided to "clone" that car with this one and we finished it in May of this year. The car is "street" legal and is
inspected and licensed. However, I do not drive it on the street any longer.
If I can get clearance from my doctor ( I had back surgery in December) to race again, we will run it on March 17/18 at Texas
World Speedway in the CVRA race that weekend.
The car is pretty competitive with most of the Shelby 350 GT Mustangs but not
all of them. We have some very "expensive & fast" Shelby's running down here.
